Nature's Guardians: What Indigenous Voices Can Teach Us
Drs. Lori Byron and Robert Byron will discuss unique indigenous methods for addressing climate change issues and the disproportionate effect of climate change on indigenous peoples. They will explore issues including migration in a place-based and historically traumatized people, and food security.
The Climate Crisis and Pregnancy
Drs. Bruce Bekkar and Nathaniel DeNicola will discuss the impacts of climate change on US pregnancies, specifically on preterm births, low birth weight and stillbirths. They will highlight the racial disparity revealed by their research and discuss ways to address these findings at both the patient care and legislative levels.
