Rita Charon, MD, PhD is chair and professor of Medical Humanities and Ethics and professor of Medicine at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. As the founder of the Program in Narrative Medicine, her scholarship and teaching focus on the return of storytelling to the center of medical practice.
