Nikki Vangsnes is the Associate Director of the Trent Center where she has served since its inception in 2000.  She works closely with director Jeff Baker, MD  and Center faculty to develop strategic initiatives and also oversees day-to-day administration, program planning, and communications.  Prior to coming to Duke, Ms. Vangsnes worked for 15 years in educational programs focusing on sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS.  From 1987-1996, she served as the Associate Director of the Center for Disease Control’s National AIDS Hotline which handled more than a million calls annually about HIV prevention, testing, and treatment.
