The Battle for Your Brain - Defending the Right to Think Freely in the Age of Neurotechnology - Nita A. Farahany

Neurotechnology could soon become the “universal controller” for all of our interactions with technology and benefit humanity immensely. But without safeguards, it could severely threaten our fundamental human rights to privacy, freedom of thought, and self-determination. In her talk, Professor Farahany will offer a path forward to navigate the complex dilemmas that will fundamentally impact our freedom to understand, shape, and define ourselves.

A leading scholar and keynote speaker on the ethical, legal, and social implications of emerging technologies, Nita Farahany currently focuses on the implications of emerging neuroscience, genomics, and artificial intelligence for law and society.

Lecture Hall 2002 is one floor directly above the main lobby of Duke Hospital.
