I am currently in my second year of fellowship in Neonatology and have had a growing interest in neonatal-perinatal ethics and palliative care since medical school. I am passionate about walking alongside families during one of the most vulnerable, terrifying, beautiful, and life-changing circumstances of having a newborn admitted to the NICU. Continually, I grapple with questions surrounding periviability, prenatal counseling, and how best to communicate with families and support values-based decision-making for critically ill infants. The Trent Center Clinical Ethics Fellowship is an amazing program that is equipping me with a stronger ethical framework through which to view my current clinical practice and will inform my future career bridging neonatology and neonatal-perinatal palliative care.
