Harris Solomon, PhD is a medical anthropologist whose research explores the relations between medicine and everyday social and political life. His work is based in urban India and in the US. His scholarly and public-facing writing addresses the social dimensions of infectious and chronic disease epidemics, healthcare labor, and hospital life. He writes a regular newsletter, Vital Sign, about medicine and everyday life. His books include Metabolic Living: Food, Fat, and the Absorption of Illness in India (Duke University Press, 2016) and Lifelines: The Traffic of Trauma (Duke University Press, 2022).
