I am a third-year Hematology-Oncology fellow at Duke, with a dual focus on cellular therapies and health equity. I am dedicated to caring for patients with hematologic malignancies and aim to use cutting-edge treatments like stem cell therapy and CAR-T to provide curative options for marginalized populations. My research explores how social determinants of health impact access to these therapies. I am particularly interested in the intersection of race, culture, and social justice within clinical ethics. Recognizing the multifaceted nature of these issues, I seek structured training to navigate them effectively and enhance health equity. Through the Clinical Ethics sub-fellowship, I hope to develop skills to address ethical complexities—such as informed consent and end-of-life discussions—within clinical oncology. By integrating clinical practice with ethical considerations, I hope to bridge gaps in equitable care delivery and foster treatment outcomes that honor compassion, justice, and the unique narratives of each patient.
