I am currently in my second year of pediatric critical care fellowship at Duke. In addition to my clinical time in the pediatric ICU, my research focusses on the experiences of parents of children with severe neurologic impairment when they are admitted to the ICU and how parents and clinicians collaborate. My interest in clinical ethics stems from the ethically challenging scenarios that we encounter in the ICU on a daily basis. Taking care of children of all ages, many of whom are too young and too sick to speak and make choices for themselves, adds another layer of complexity as we partner with parents to make difficult care decisions. I am excited for the opportunity to work with and learn from people throughout Duke during the ethics fellowship!
