Yekki (she/her) is a 4th year Psychiatry resident. During her time at Duke, she has facilitated workshops and co-directed a writing course in the medical humanities with the Trent Center. She first learned clinical ethics as a medical student, found her perspectives and framework shifting over the course of her training, and wanted to fully explore this shift with the Clinical Ethics Fellowship. Topics of interest include 1) the presence of moral emotions within consultants during the clinical ethics consultation, 2) the bi-directional interactions between affect and ethical decision-making, 3) how uncritical applications of clinical ethics can perpetuate inequalities against marginalized people.
