Johanna Schoen, PhD is professor of history at Rutgers University-New Brunswick with an affiliation at the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research. She is the author of two books, including Choice and Coercion: Birth Control, Sterilization, and Abortion in Public Health and Welfare in the Twentieth Century. Her current work explores ethical frameworks in defense of the right to decide over life and death in abortion care, neonatology, and at the end of life in cases of terminal illness.
